The High Republic

Star Wars: High Republic is a project first initiated by the Disney Publishing team that was set in the "High Republic" sub-era of the Republic era, some 200 years before the Star Wars movies. Since then, it has gained a strong following and the storyline has spread to various multimedia projects such as games.
I worked on the project as an assistant designer to help create the art style for the program before taking on the role as the main designer for all of the books.
At the time of the initial design, High Republic was an extension of the Star Wars series. I thought that there should be no sense of alienation with the existing Star Wars works. So, I tried to design in a more classic and elegant feel by referencing a lot of old Star Wars published/unpublished materials. I designed the overall design lineup of the book, the Drgnir icon, the main icon of the upper Republic, and the character poster. As a result, the first High Republic series became a New York Times bestseller.
