Cruella
@Disney PublishingCruella is Walt Disney’s American crime comedy film about the character Cruella de Vil from The Hundred and One Dalmatians novels. The film tells the story of Cruella growing up as a child and how she becomes a fur-obsessed villain. Unlike other live-action films, its atmosphere is dark overall, but shocking and fashionable. I got a lot of design ideas from the movie and made an effort to incorporate them into the book.
Since teens and young adults were the target audience, I thought a lot about how to design more differentiated from other programs, and how to express Estella and Cruella in a more unique way. So for that I used bold colors and at the same time, tried to balance fonts and designs within the colors to look more cohesive.
Since there was no Art team in this program, I expanded my capabilities as the main designer by taking charge of both art and design.

Hello, Cruel HeartCruella Sketchbook
Sketchbook was inspired by Cruella’s sketchbook in the
movie. It is a book that was created on the assumption that Cruella wrote from
her childhood to the present. As a result, I tried to show diversity on each
page from the beginning of the book to the end, and I paid a lot of attention
to make sure that the flow of each page was well connected.
